Our work experience programme gives you the opportunity to spend time in a real, live NHS GP surgery in East London — working alongside healthcare professionals in an authentic clinical environment.
This is not a simulated environment. You will be working in a functioning GP practice, observing and supporting clinical activity as directed by the team. The type of work you carry out — whether phlebotomy-related, administrative, or other clinical support — will depend on the needs of the practice at the time of your placement.
The duration of your placement is agreed on an individual basis. We do not commit to a fixed number of weeks in advance, as every student and every placement is different.
Your placement is designed to give you the kind of real-world clinical exposure that employers look for — and that you simply can't get from a classroom.
Work experience is exclusively available to students enrolled on the Enhanced Package. It's not available as a standalone add-on.
