Theory, mannequin practice and two supervised live patient sessions at a real NHS GP surgery.
Duration: 3 days • London
Funding may be available for eligible candidates
The Standard Package is our most popular course. Over three days you build from theory through mannequin practice to performing live venepuncture on real patients — all under the close supervision of your trainer, who has 20+ years of NHS experience.
Unlike courses that simulate a clinical environment, your live patient sessions take place inside a genuine, active NHS GP surgery. You will use EMIS — the clinical software used in most UK GP practices — giving you experience that hospitals and surgeries immediately recognise on a CV.
No prior experience is required. You do not need a healthcare background to book the Standard Package.
Read genuine reviews from our graduates on our Testimonials page, including stories from students who secured NHS phlebotomy jobs after training.
“I was very impressed with the high standard of training provided by The Phlebotomy Trainer. The hands-on experience, conducted in real-time with real patients provided an authentic and invaluable experience. This is by far the best phlebotomy training experience currently available in London.”
“The theory and practical training was excellent. Aishah is very thorough. This company was upfront about the details of their training from my first contact with them. Other companies were cheaper but did not provide the practical training to get the full certificate. They only mentioned that when asked, and told me I would have to find a surgery who will allow me to do phlebotomy on live patients.”
“My experience with The Phlebotomy Trainer was super informative and hands-on! I got to practice real live drawing blood from real patients at GP centre (nerve-wracking at first, but confidence-boosting afterwards!). Aishah the instructor was very experienced and supportive, she supervised me throughout the live bleeding so I felt at ease. I learned essential skills like patient communication and safety protocols, and I was also taught how the EMIS web system works. I highly recommend The Phlebotomy Trainer for anyone wanting to start a career in Phlebotomy.”
