Where do you deliver the venepuncture training?

We can deliver this training at your premises, as long as it's within the UK. We are also able to deliver Theory only sessions virtually using Zoom and will not be able to issue a competency certificate without an in-house practical session.

Who is this venepuncture training for?

This phlebotomy venepuncture training course is aimed at beginners with no experience in phlebotomy as well as existing healthcare staff; specifically, registered nurses, carers and support workers whose roles include taking blood. This is also ideal for staff looking to improve their skills in venepuncture or have a refresher course.

How many delegates can I have in one group session?

We will deliver this training for a group of up to 12 delegates. Likewise, for larger groups we can either provide multiple trainers on the same day or run multiple days to get everyone trained.

Will attending this training make me competent?

In short, no. No classroom-based training course can give you full competency - be very wary of anyone claiming they can. However, our classroom-based assessments are designed to bridge the gap between classroom learning and workplace competency. We will provide you with the relevant workbooks and competency pro-formas to be observed and signed off within the workplace according to your local policy.

Who will conduct the training?

One of our expert phlebotomy tutors will personally provide training and assess technique and competency on a mannequin arm. The tutor is also available for supervising you on live bleeds (in person) for up to 30 bleeds which is the standard competency benchmark in for most local policies.
